Laptop vs desktop
I used to think that desktop is better than laptop, but thinking again I see that laptop also better. Right now I am using desktop because I don’t fee a need for a laptop yet. I was able to my gaming laptop battery life to last longer so I could play where I wanted without having it plugged in all the time.
So how about you? Already have your own personal computer or still confuse which one is more appropriate. If so, below comparison should help you get the ideas to know which one suit you best. Laptop or desktop.
Basically you can compare between a laptop and a computer by using these parameters. But I am gonna only talk about a few of them.
- Modding / Upgrading
- Power consumption
For price, of course desktop is better than laptop. You can get a powerful specs of a desktop at half of the price of a laptop. Desktop also allow easy upgrade of hardware. If you are a gaming or processor maniac that follow the trend of the latest graphic card and processor, you should find a desktop to be convenient. Despite all of the benefits, desktop has one major disadvantage that is not portable. It is pain in the ass to think about where to keep my desktop during semester break.
In contrast to desktop, it is hard to upgrade a laptop. The only hardware that can be upgrade is memory card. With a desktop, some PC geeks managed to mod their desktop into something bombastic.
Since a laptop hardware is fixed, you should find it hard to replace a damaged component. That’s why warranty is very important for laptop. If you need to spend extra dollars for extended warranty, do it because this will help you in the future.
If one day I decided to buy a laptop, then it is because one thing. For sure because of its compactness and portability so that I can bring the laptop anywhere.
